Since You've Been Gone

Since my last blogging experience, things have changed! If you are reading this blog, then you are reading the blog of the newest sex columnist for the University of Colorado at Boulder!

I'm still writing for every other possible publication in Boulder, but this is definitely one of my favorites.

If you're interested in reading about sexual taboos, the kind of stuff we don't like to say out loud, then definitely tune into my weekly column at http://cuindependent.com!

Catching Up with Everything Lost

It has been literally months since I've touched this blog. Rough, especially seeing as how I tried really hard to lean in a social media direction for so long.

I've lost touch with everything important to me, it seems like. Maybe it's because of going back to school, who knows. School is where I feel the most lost these days.

I'm not going to even get into the whole journalism school drama here at CU-Boulder. But despite the chaos that I find myself living in every day, I still manage to find myself doing what I love: writing.

What lies ahead of me with my future is a terrifying mass of unknown. But until I get there, I will continue writing sentences, in the hopes that one day I land in my intended destination.

Cause' I Miss You, Girl

My little Georgia peach is long gone! Katarina and I just had a very intense Skype conversation, and it's making me miss her very, very much!

This girl has been one of the best friends I will ever have. She's just absolutely wonderful and I hate that she'll be in Georgia next year.

I will never forget all of the great times we've had together, such as the Patrick Swayze Fiesta and the Rubrik's Cube party!!!

Kat, I love you and miss you and you are the most fashionable person I have ever met :)

Day in, day out

This is how I feel essentially every day. I'm exhausted 24/7! When summer started, I assumed I'd be lounging around by the pool, getting my tan on. I can't believe I'm working 8 hours a day, 5 days a week.
While I do appreciate having a job and a steady paycheck, I just feel as if I'm not getting the most out of an internship. This isn't going to prepare me for the real world that I'm planning on going into. Journalists typically do not work a 9-5 job. Breaking news can not be covered like this.
I guess I can only hope that the summer just goes by extremely fast..

The first: It's always awkward

It's inevitable: the first post on a blog is always going to be awkward. There's just no way to avoid it. When you've got this whole page of empty space, you know it's absolutely necessary to fill it with words immediately. But then you click on "New Post" and you sit there for several minutes as you think about what to write. And in the end...you post about how it's your first time posting. I'm assured that this must happen for everybody.

When you think about it, all first times are awkward, though. Your first day of high school was probably ridiculously awkward. If you were anything like me, I'm sure when that lunch bell rang, you stood in the middle of a crowded cafeteria, holding your tray of jiggling Jell-O, and not knowing where to sit. There's only one more awkward experience that we all have in common....
